Meister Johannes Scherzer Trumpets
Vogtland
is a name synonymous with the world of musical instrument making - no other
area in Europe can claim to such a long tradition of brass instrument production
as the region embracing Saxony and Bohemia. It is in the year 1750 that the
making of metal musical and signal instruments is first recorded which then
developed into the highest standards
of a musical instrument production.
Emil Knoth after he studied and worked under Phillip Reichel from 1884 - 1900
founded the RINO workshop in Markneukirchen.
His son Kurt Knoth then took over and moved the workshop to Mosenstraße where
his nephew Johannes Scherzer studied and worked after the war, made his mastership
in 1951. In the master workshop and during the time of GDR with all ist difficulties,
the pursuit of excellence continued and in 1991 the master workshop of Scherzer
integrated with " VMI" - Vogtländische Musikinstrumentenfabrik GmbH and found
a new home from now on in the " White House " producing trumpets and searching
perfection.
The name Johannes
Scherzer continues a long tradition and is a name found only on the highest
quality trumpets .
